Try these combinations (or create your own): strawberries and bananas with strawberry yogurt and orange juice; raspberries and blueberries with vanilla yogurt and cranberry juice; mangos and strawberries with vanilla yogurt and orange-pineapple juice; bananas and blueberries with banana yogurt and pineapple-orange-banana juice. Let your children come up with fun combinations for the smoothies!
½ cup fruit
½ cup low-fat or fat-free yogurt
Ziploc sandwich bags
½ cup low-fat or fat-free milk
½ cup 100% juice
Combine ½ cup of your child’s favorite fruit and ½ cup of yogurt. Make as many different combinations as you want. Freeze in individual Ziploc bags. Label, date, and lay flat to freeze.
In the morning, pull a bag from the freezer, empty the contents into a blender with ½ cup of milk and ½ cup of juice. Whirl until smooth. Enjoy a quick smoothie!
