Top the fruity peanut butter French toast with more fresh strawberries, if desired. 100% whole wheat breads are made with whole grains and will have more fiber per serving than “multi-grain” or plain “wheat” breads.
2 slices whole wheat bread
3-4 whole strawberries, sliced thinly
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 cup skim milk
1 whole egg
Spread peanut butter on the bread, as if making a peanut butter sandwich. Lay thinly sliced strawberries on top of the peanut butter on one piece of bread. In a bowl, beat the egg and milk together. Carefully dip the whole sandwich in the egg and milk mixture. Spray a medium skillet lightly with cooking spray. Heat over medium heat and add sandwich to the pan. Lightly brown both sides of the sandwich and serve warm.
