Banana Split Oatmeal  


½ cup dry oatmeal

1 cup water

½ banana

½ cup frozen strawberries

½ tablespoon peanut butter

½ tablespoon walnuts, chopped

½ tablespoon mini chocolate chips

Optional: Vanilla yogurt for “whipped topping”


In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add oats.  Cook on low, stirring occasionally, until the oats are to your desired consistency.

While oats are cooking, place strawberries in the microwave and heat for about 75 seconds, until they are warm and mushy.

Stir peanut butter into warm oatmeal and place in a bowl.  Top with banana, strawberries,  chocolate, nuts, and “whipped topping” if desired. Serves 1
